Pakistan 3rd Submarine Cable Connection Ready Next Month

The final stage of a third submarine fibre cable has begun final undersea testing of the cable laid from Karachi to the United Arab Emirates. The Saif Group is reported to have informed the federal government that the submarine cable system called TWA-1, would be operational in June 2006, and would supplement SEAMEWE-3 (South East Asia, Middle East and Western Europe) and the recently inaugurated SEAMEWE-4 cable systems of the Pakistan Telecommunication Company.
