Telstra Halts Plans for Network Posted on: 09/01/2006 TELSTRA has reportedly halted plans to build a residential fibre network worth up to A$5 billion after the competition regulator launched an inquiry into the company's fixed-line networks. The new competition inquiry has cast fresh doubts on the Government's plans to sell its A$25 billion stake in the company next year. The review by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, expected to continue until the middle of next year, could delay the Government's sale of the 51.8 per cent public stake.News story posted by: BroadGroup
