CJSC TransTelecom Company Earns More Than 3 Billion Rubles

Posted on: 18/05/2006

CJSC TransTeleCom Company (TTС) has released their statement for activity in the first three months of the present year.

The consolidated income of TTС group of companies, which consists of the parent company and 17 regional enterprises, amounted to 3.09 billion rubles in the first quarter of 2006. The income from rendering of communication services amounted to 2.26 billion rubles. The income of the parent company amounted to 2.82 billion rubles in the first quarter of the present year. It is 1.4 times more than for the same period of 2005. The income from rendering of communication services, which constitutes more than 70% of the Company’s revenue, amounted to 2.12 billion rubles, which exceeds 1.5 times figures for the last year (1.43 billion rubles).

In the first quarter, TTC expanded geographic coverage of its DWDM-modernized network. A new DWDM network section in Central, Volga, and Southern federal districts of Russia (the so-called «Southern branch») has been put in operation. It runs along the following route: Moscow – Rostov-on-Don – Saratov – Samara. Upon completion of “The Southern branch”, the general extent of the TransTeleCom Company’s DWDM network has reached 22,425 kilometers.

Having obtained the licenses of the Russian Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications No. 33767 and No. 34254 "Communication Channels Provision Service", TransTeleCom expanded its field of operations in the international traffic transit market. Upon lifting of restrictions that existed in the former license terms, TTC has seen new opportunities to cooperate with the largest telecommunication companies operating in European and Southeast Asian markets.
